A Filipino's Favorite Coffee

A typical 3-in-1 is instant coffee, creamer and sugar, and the sachet is mostly the last two. Joe's Blend is built the other way round: 100% Arabica first, then a non-dairy creamer and raw sugarcane, plus L-theanine, L-glutathione and L-carnitine. Instant coffee is brewed coffee that has been dried, so what matters is what went into the cup before drying. Joe's Blend uses a medium roast 100% Arabica base and adds three amino acids in a 21 g sachet. We do not add artificial colour. Every ingredient is listed under Read the label.

It depends what you want from the cup. If you want a 3-in-1 that is 100% Arabica, works hot or iced, and carries L-theanine, L-glutathione and L-carnitine in one sachet, that is exactly what we make. Joe's Blend is poured daily at our own cafe in Davao City, so you can taste it before you order a box.

Joe's Blend is. The coffee in every sachet is 100% Arabica, medium roast. Most instant and 3-in-1 sachets in the Philippines use Robusta or a Robusta blend because it is cheaper and stronger in caffeine. Arabica is smoother and lower in acidity, which is why we chose it.

Arabica grows at higher altitude, tastes sweeter and smoother with notes of chocolate and fruit, and has roughly half the caffeine of Robusta. Robusta is hardier, more bitter, higher in caffeine and cheaper, which is why it fills most mass-market sachets. Joe's Blend is Arabica only.

Brewed coffee gives you control and freshness; instant gives you 30 seconds and no equipment. A good instant starts from good beans, which is why the base of Joe's Blend is 100% Arabica rather than a blend. If you want the ritual of brewing, visit the cafe. If you want the same coffee at your desk, the sachet is for that.

L-theanine is the amino acid found naturally in green tea. Research on the caffeine and L-theanine pairing has looked at attention and alertness, and people often describe the combination as a smoother, steadier kind of energy than coffee alone. We describe what the studies discuss; we do not promise how you will feel.

Each sachet is 21 g of medium roast Arabica blend. The exact L-theanine and caffeine figures come from the certificate of analysis for the batch, and we publish them on this page as each batch is released. Arabica naturally carries less caffeine than Robusta, so expect a gentler lift than a Robusta 3-in-1.
